01. Signage system
This was the first shot that I took from Prague.
It was interesting that Prague make public to separate trash by differentiate it's colour in every where
because almost nowhere doing like this.
By seeing this from the airport, I could expect how this city will be clean and beautiful and how the government and people whose living in Prague has the consideration about nature.
The second shoot was 'signage system' in Prague.
What I want to say...hmmmm..it's confusing!
At the first time it was hard to understand.
For instance, from the image above, can you find which pictogram means
'Exit' and 'Transport' ?
Also the pictogram they used looks roundish and cute but a little bit lack of consistency.
I think the sign system of Prague is still in progress (I guess)
because they were using 2-3 different pictogram style about same information at the same space.
(e.g: somewhere using rounded style, another using rectangular style)
This shoot was took from the train going Ceski Kromluv - 2 hours from Prague.
....Can you recognize what this signage means??????
Whether it's signage system is well designed or not, it was really interesting to me.
Because facing a signage with strange language and unfamiliar layout, makes more
exotic feeling than the sight seeing for me.
Though some confusing signage system, Prague still has great potential
and resources I think (for the design).
The image above - Museum station - which looks modern and also Art Nouveau style were built between 1901 and 1909, designed by the Czech architect Josef Fanta, on the site of old dismantled Neo-Renaissance station. The station was extended by a new terminal building, built between 1972 and 1979, including an underground station and a main road on the roof of the terminal.
02. POSTERS
The images below are the exhibition about art, film, orchestra etc.
The interesting thing from Prague, I couldn't find any cheesy advertisement poster or commercial posters like fashion, food, TV channel on the road. (I could find some from the tube station but still few compared other country.) There were only about culture like art, film, orchestra etc...
I think these kinds of details make Prague more beautiful and clean.
03. ANIMATION
As Prague is famous for the marionette - puppet doll, they are also famous for the puppet animation. Above other animation and animator, luckily I could see an exhibition about 'Jan Svankmajer' in Prague. He is a Czech filmmaker and artist whose work spans several media. He is a self-labeled surrealist known for his surreal animations and features, which have greatly influenced other artists such as Terry Gilliam, the Brothers Quay, and many others.
Here is his main homepage link
and this is his works. Actually there are lots of master piece so
I highly recommend to find his work and watch as much as you can!
Last thing. I have been so addicted this animation since I came back from Prague.
It's Krtek means Mole.
It is an animated character in a series of cartoons, created
by Czech animator Zdeněk Miler in 1956.
